MPOX Active – Sewer septicity control

A product aimed at providing a more technically advanced solution to problems in collection systems:

Design

  • The MuSol system works by selectively reacting only the hydrogen sulphide and other reduced sulphide compounds as they are formed.

  • The product is essentially non-reactive until sulphide is just about to be produced, and therefore, creates a “chemical reservoir” of product, which effectively eliminates peaks and troughs.

  • Furthermore, the product can be stabilised so that it may be decided at the design stage how long lasting the de-odorisation will be.

  • This results in very low dose rates being used.

 
 

  • Trials resulted in a 90% reduction in the amount of chemical used, which equated to a 25% reduction in the cost vs. calcium nitrate.

  • In addition, a further 79% reduction in hydrogen sulphide levels were achieved.

  • The reduction in the amount of chemical required provided further benefits with regard to the size of storage tanks required and frequency of delivery to site.

  • Equipment required for dosing MPOX is far simpler than that required for the calcium nitrate system.
