Dissolved Sulphide Detection

Dissolved hydrogen sulphide is converted to sulphuric acid under moist environments. The sulphuric acid has then the ability to corrode concrete especially in the liners of sewer systems.

To minimise this damage strict discharge limits are set on the levels of sulphide in effluent discharges with heavy fines for breaking these limits.

Musol have developed an automated dosing system to ensure that companies stay within their discharge limits.

The Musol solution is to automatically sample the discharge to the sewer and determine the level of sulphide in the effluent. The sulphide level is converted to a signal to dose pumps up stream of the effluent discharge stream which allows automated dosing of MPOX to ensure the discharge sulphide levels remain constant
